Fawn & Flora is a free site. Writing it, photographing it and keeping it online costs money, and affiliate commissions are how that gets paid for. This page explains exactly how that works, because you deserve to know before you click anything.
What an affiliate link is
Some links to products on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may receive a small commission from the retailer. The price you pay is exactly the same. The commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not your pocket.
Which links are affiliate links
Any link to a product on a retailer’s site should be assumed to be an affiliate link. Every article containing them carries a disclosure notice at the top, above the content, before you’ve read a word of the recommendation.
Links to other articles on this site, to reference material, and to organisations we mention are never affiliate links.
The rules we hold ourselves to
- We only recommend things we would buy, or have bought, with our own money.
- We do not accept payment in exchange for a positive review, a ranking position, or inclusion in a buyer’s guide.
- Where a product has a genuine flaw, we say so — including in articles where we earn a commission on it.
- Rankings are not for sale. If a cheaper product is better, it wins.
- We name products we think you should avoid, which is not something an advertiser would ask us to do.
Programmes we participate in
Fawn & Flora is a participant in various affiliate advertising programmes designed to provide a means for sites to earn fees by linking to retailers. This includes, at various times, general marketplace programmes and the direct affiliate programmes of individual garden and homeware brands.
If you buy something through a link here, we might earn a few pounds. It costs you nothing, and it never changes what we tell you about a product.
